• Youth Beginner Aerial Workshop

  • Is your child curious about taking an aerial class or summer camp, but not fully ready to commit? Join us Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 11:00am-12:15 pm for a  75 minute introduction to aerial arts,  providing a safe, supportive initial dive into the practice.  This particular workshop will focus primarily on aerial silks/ fabrics.  Begin working on strength, endurance, flexibility and presentation.  All levels of experience welcome, including the complete beginner. Ages 7+.

    About the Instructor:

    Liz Bliss began her Cirque training in her youth with acrobatics and dance.  In 2001 she was introduced to fire arts and began her stilting and aerial training shortly after that.  She has trained with many talented aerialists including, Rain Anya, McKinley Vitale, Constance Echo Palmer, Krystyn Tsagarakis and many other talented and inspiring instructors, performers and troupes.   


    A founder and co-owner of Imagine Circus (www.imaginecircus.com), Liz  has been performing for over two decades and has worked for a dozen different cirque and entertainment companies.  She began teaching circus arts in 2007 and currently focuses on aerial arts.  She is best known for her instruction on fabric theory and partner work, both in the air and on the ground.  Liz  has over 15 years experience producing, directing and choreographing.  She has a BA from Rutgers College and a MPH from UNC - Chapel Hill.   


    In 2015 she wrote, directed, produced and toured,  Light Pours In, her original cirque show scored to live music. In addition to teaching aerial dance and aerial stretch and conditioning, Liz also teaches partner acro, fire performance, stilt walking and other cirque arts throughout the South East. She is available for private lessons as well as group classes.  
     
    Liz Bliss believes that every body that moves is beautiful and wants to inspire everybody to move. She enjoys teaching people of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Her goal is to use circus arts as a vehicle for improving the lives of her students, community and the greater world. Her classes offer her students and opportunity to explore aerial arts as well as find their voice, connect with their body, build community, and receive encouragement towards self care practices.
