Ease & Efficiency: A Somatics Based Class for Dancers
1st & 3rd Thursdays, 6-7:15pm

Explore how your joints work through playful and body-conscious movement patterns. Promote longevity in all your practices by somatically working though the major and minor actions that create movement. We'll look at walking, jumping, pushing, pulling as the basics of movement, and stretch into short movement phrases that stack principles together. Think of a super low-key dance/yoga class that's about you finding ease and freedom in your body over "getting it right." The class draws on an experience with Axis Syllabus, Contact Improvisation, Somatic Movement Patterning, and Bodywork modalities. Great for all body practices, from ecstatic dance to weight lifting to acro yoga to contact improvisation.
$15/class if you pre-register $20 for a drop-in. Need base sliding scale available. Please contact Christopher to discuss this.
